Once I had climbed into bed, it didn't take long to fall asleep. The bed felt like a cloud and the sheets were 400 count Egyptian cotton. I dreamt about the diamond I had been framed for steeling, what it must have looked like. Then my dream jumped to my wedding to Jade. This girl was on my mind for sure.
I awoke with the drive to build my athletic skill and headed for the 'work-out' room. I adjusted the setting on the weights and jumped on the bench press machine. As soon as I began my work out I realized I wasn't as strong as I thought I was. Every muscle in my body cried out and so did I!!!
"Ouch! Maybe I should start lighter."
After building my skill to a two it was time to head to work. I dressed in the uniform that Dennis gave me and headed for the Diner to meet him. When I showed up Dennis was no where to be found. My phone vibrated in my pocket, making me jump sky-high. It was a text message from Dennis, explaining the job I was to preform.
I was to steal one chair and head back to the warehouse. I stood around for a few moments and then checking for on lookers and witness, seeing none I grabbed the nearest chair.
I jumped on Sara and headed to the warehouse to check in. I was shaking with the rush of being able to steal for the boss. I love stealing things, there is not anything like the rush.
Sara could feel the adrenaline rush I was having and she began to go faster.
"Hey there Sara, we aren't having a race," I spoke as calmly as I could and continued to talk to her. "We have to be there before the end of shift though."
Sara began to slow down and I felt better about riding her without a helmet.
Upon arriving at work I noticed a cop car out front and thought about running. Then the thought of losing my job made me think twice.
I walked in and headed for the locker room when I heard a voice behind me, "Hey you! I saw you steal that chair from the diner, you are under arrest."
I turned around to see officer Tex holding a set of handcuffs, that was when I turned tail and ran. I was not going to jail.
She quickly pursued me and I was hauled of to jail. "You need to work on your athletic skill if you want to get away from me, buddy!" she said so serious I almost cried.
She booked me in and gave me my one phone call. I didn't know anyone in town beside my boss and Jade. I knew calling my boss was a lost cause so I called Jade.
After two rings Jade answered, "Hello?" Her voice sounded just as I remembered. I was dumb struck just to hear her voice.
"Hello, I can hear you breathing," She sounded annoyed. I had to say something and quick I only had three minutes.
"Hi Jade, this is Josh. I know we barely know each other but I was wondering if you could bail me out?" I asked sheepishly. The line went silent and I thought she had hung up.
"How much and how are you going to pay me back?" she asked after several moments.
I responded even more sheepishly, "$3,000, I will buy you a car and teach you to drive." It was the only thing I could think of. "I know it is a lot of money but I will pay you back."
"I'll be right there," was her reply and she hung up.
When I was finally booked out shortly after 8:30 and Jade had already headed for school. I didn't even get a chance to thank her.
